The Digital Product Passport (DPP) topic was under the loop on May 7th, in the Expert Roundtable organized by the PIECE Project Consortium.
The purpose of the online event was to bring together the Project consortium and Experts of the Battery field in order to discuss the DPP reality in today’s industry.
The workshop structure included:
- Introduction of the participants,
- Presentation of the PIECE Survey results (Reference to the 2 Surveys launched in Feb 2024 to Industry and training providers’ stakeholders to check the existing knowledge around the Digital Product Passport)
- Brainstorming session based on a questionnaire designed by the project Consortium in order to get expert insights and deep dive into the DPP reality.
- Open discussion with experts around the topic.
This online gathering led engaging discussions surrounding the DPP, fostering valuable exchanges of insights and ideas regarding its current adoption needs. Participants delved into the significance of providing practical examples to facilitate DPP adoption, and discussed the importance of integrating elements like supply chain, data security, and privacy protocols in the preparatory steps of DPP adoption efforts. The five experts and the project team identified together the main directions that need to be followed further by the project in order to facilitate the transition to DPP in the battery sector and develop training guidelines and materials for training delivery to foster knowledge about DPP and raise VET attractiveness and awareness.
